Position: Order Management Technology Leader

- Experience
- 8-15 years include at least 5 years leading people.
- Experience with a well-regarded global bank, asset manager, hedge fund, capital markets software company or market infrastructure company (e.g. a securities exchange). Experience should include directly supporting trading operations including interacting with traders and salespeople on trading floors.

- Accountable for execution of a new form of fundamentally cross-asset class trading platform.
- Site lead for Mumbai team.
- Drive financial results for Think Liquidity by making our clients successful, which enables opportunity for our people.
- Contribute thought leadership insight to design a new trading platform.
- Mandatory Requirements
- Ultimate responsibility for developing more than one front office trading application across multiple release cycles.
- Created order management platforms or other capital markets front office trading applications such as DMA, crossing, market making, model-based/systematic/algo trading, program trading, market data, and exchange connectivity.
- Understand order types and behaviors, and the order lifecycle.
- Understand of one or more asset classes including foreign exchange, equities, options, binaries, spreads, and contracts for difference.
- Expertise with high volume, low latency systems from both a software and infrastructure perspective. The candidate should understand show network, interconnect, servers, and storage affect latency. Ideally a candidate brings experience with Infiniband, RDMA, and similar techniques.
- Exposure to the FIX protocol (and, optionally, FAST, ITCH, and OUCH) and market data including feed handlers and ticker plants.
- Demonstrated mastery of high performance Java design patterns.
- Must understand data modelling, query design, and database performance optimization concepts.
- Managed at least 15 people for at least 5 years with clear ability to mentor and develop junior people.
- Must have experience working for a supervisor located in the US, UK or similar time zone in the context of a globally distributed team.
- Evidence of new invention, innovation, or achieving competitive edge through technology.
- Technology
- Proficient in core Java technologies. OCPJP (7,8) certification preferred. Prefer a candidate who has had experience with another language such as C++, C#, or Scala.
- Should have expertise with the Spring framework including context and transaction management.
- Understand high performance messaging middleware such as Solace, Kafka, or Tibco EMS.
- Familiarity with distributed coherent cache technologies such as Hazelcast or Akka.
- Prefer expertise with SQL Server, but can be experienced with any major database. They should know how to optimize query and database performance, and guide where to use relational stores relative to map/reduce, tag/value, document, and columnar stores.
- Should bring some understanding of concepts in big data packages such as Hadoop, Spark, or Storm to contribute to broader platform design decisions.
- Should have certifications earlier in their career.
- Process
- This person must be strong with agile to not only perform agile processes, but guide a team newly adopting agile techniques. We intend to cultivate strong agile processes including test-driven development (where appropriate), unit testing, continuous integration, automated testing, and continuous integration.
- Domain expertise
- This individual should have specific experience in order management such as: pre-trade analytics, market making, crossing, OMS/EMS, and exchange connectivity.
- The order management leader should be a capital markets SME with experience ideally in asset classes including FX and options.
- FINRA licensing such as Series 7 is a positive indicator.

- First and foremost, the Order Management Leader should be a great leader who values people, and will make individuals and the Mumbai team successful.
- They should be able to structure process that accelerates and brings predictability and consistency to development.
- As the site leader for Mumbai, they are a senior leader in the Think group of companies and should expect to contribute on a global, cross-functional basis.
